When all the math is said and done, the true among comes out to around $0. And that doesn’t take into account the many billions of dollars Goldman Sachs made selling these illegal subprime instruments. With fines like these, and no consequences for anyone in the firm for breaking the law, our own government is actually forcing companies to break the law. The profit potentials are too high and the downside risk non-existent.
