The Federal Reserve is struggling to hit its annual inflation target for the sixth straight year, suggesting that, once again, it may be too optimistic about the health of the economy.

There is a simple solution, have the government start looking into actually spending some money, not on the banks, but actually hiring people to fix our infrastructure, for example, or maybe provide more healthcare. Perhaps it’s time for a new New Deal.
