“BREAKING: @AP finds Clinton reached the number of delegates needed to clinch the Democratic nomination for president”
Calling the nomination the night before California voters vote for either Hillary or Bernie as their nominee, based on an unofficial “survey” of super-delegates who don’t vote until July, seems a bit manipulative in the least?
The winner needs 2,383 delegates
Hillary has 1812
Bernie has 1521
813 still available.
Super-delegates don’t vote until July
This news could either make Bernie Sanders voters not bother coming out or it could have the same effect on Hillary Clinton voters, which is why Hillary has come out telling her voters to disregard that last message.
We’re flattered, @AP, but we've got primaries to win. CA, MT, NM, ND, NJ, SD, vote tomorrow! https://t.co/8t3GpZqc1U

Unfortunately the media is just following along and repeating the AP story as if it’s fact.
