Just 100 companies responsible for 71% of global emissions, study says

A relatively small number of fossil fuel producers and their investors could hold the key to tackling climate change

Article is from last year, but in light of the most recent climate change report, perhaps a solution to addressing the problem is to first figure out how to work with these companies.. even if it means paying them for the losses they will incur helping save the world! This may get them to stop influencing governments to NOT address the issue, and we can start looking for majors ways to address the problem head-on. Instead of ignoring it, as we are currently doing.

Countries have the ability to create the currency needed for this (not tax the rest of us) and this might be the most pressing case to utilize that ability.
