By contrast, Hillary Clinton has qualified her previous encouragement of the agreement, and now says she opposes it.

… by picking him, Clinton is signaling that her newly declared opposition to the agreement is not sincere. The latter explanation would confirm the theory offered by U.S. Chamber of Commerce head Tom Donohue, among others, who has said that Clinton is campaigning against the TPP for political reasons but would ultimately implement the deal.

This is not good, because the TPP will  circumvent democracy by allowing corporations to sue governments (including the US gov’t.) over rules or regulations that threaten potential corporate profits.

Hillary was a big proponent of the TPP until Bernie Sanders came out strongly against it during the campaign and she was forced to change her stance. Does this mean that, now that Bernie is out she’s back to supporting it?

  1. The TPP is going to be the worst thing to hit our rights as citizens ever. I had a feeling Hilary was just supporting it because of Bernie. Considering her history, she is exactly the type of person who wants TPP. Because of Hilary’s weak stance on TPP, it makes me worried that a vote for Hilary is a vote for TPP. And the TPP is a vote against democracy.
