  “Extends the prohibition against a person taking, failing to take, or threatening to take or fail to take a personnel action against any employee or applicant for employment for refusing to obey an order that would require the individual to violate a law to personnel actions against such an individual for refusing to obey an order that would violate a rule or regulation.”

• H.R. 910: Fair Access to Investment Research Act of 2017

Directs the Securities and Exchange Commission to provide safety for specific investment fund research reports, and for other purposes.

• H.R. 1242: 400 Years of African-American History Commission Act

Establishes the 400 Years of African-American History Commission in order to develop and carry out activities throughout the country in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the arrival of Africans in the English colonies at Point Comfort, Virginia, in 1619

• H.R. 1312: Small Business Capital Formation Enhancement Act

Requires the SEC to review the government-business forum annually on business capital formation, then publish a statement disclosing possible actions to be taken.

H.R. 1366: US Territories Investor Protection Act of 2017

To amend the Investment Company Act of 1940 to terminate an exemption for companies located in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and any other possession of the United States.

• H.R 1644: Korean Interdiction and Modernization of Sanctions Act

Amends the North Korea Sanctions and Policy Enhancement Act of 2016 to increase the President’s authority to impose sanctions on persons in violation of certain U.N Security Council resolutions related to North Korea

• H.R. 1180: Working Families Flexibility Act of 2017

Provides compensatory time for private sector employees which would allow them to convert accrued overtime hours into at least 1.5 hours of paid off time.

• H.R. 1665: Disaster Declaration Improvement Act

To ensure that Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency considers severe local impact in making a recommendation to the President for a major disaster declaration.

• H.R. 1678: To amend the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act concerning the statute of limitations for actions to recover disaster or emergency assistance payments, and for other purposes
