Hillary Clinton “felt sad” watching a Republican National Convention that was mostly about “criticizing me,” she said an interview aired Sunday night on CBS’ “60 Minutes.”

The sad part of this election is that on the one hand people are hell bent on what Hillary has done in the past, blinding them to what she could do in the future. On the other hand, people fuss about what Trump says he will do in the future, that they forget about what he has actually done in the past.

But in neither candidate do people consider something real. Words and the past don’t actually mean anything for the future. There are implications associated with both, which can be potential foreshadows of what’s to come, but the public isn’t looking at that. They’re stuck on what isn’t/was. Words aren’t actions, and the past is the past.

  1. I think she is right. The problem for her is that she’s a career politician and people are looking at what she’s done in the past (in her political decisions) to determine what she’ll do in the future. Trump has no political past, so they don’t have direct things to compare what he’ll do in the future politically. So I think that does give him an unfair advantage.
