A divided Supreme Court agreed Wednesday to temporarily block a lower court order that had cleared the way for a transgender male high school student to use the boys’ bathroom in a Virginia public school this fall.

The trans gendered bathroom issue as it relates to schools is so complex that I have yet to make a decision about it myself. That being said, I think it is important that government officials create a consistent policy with regards to the rights of transgender individuals so that the youth in this country do not become confused about their rights under the law.
