Norway’s Dagens Næringsliv newspaper reports that four of the country’s major parties have reached agreement on a proposal to ban the sale of new gasoline and diesel-powered cars starting in 2025. The proposal is not yet law, but one interested party celebrated a little early.

This is not a law yet, and the parties involved are already backtracking since they probably got a LOT of flack from members of a particular industry (oil?), but, even the fact that it’s being discussed is a win for all.
Last month in Norway, electric cars accounted for 60% of new car sales! So Norway is at least moving in the right direction.
Let’s just hope that if this ban does become law, the EU doesn’t pull a maneuver like they do in the fictitious Norwegian TV show called “Occupied”, where the EU has Russia surreptitiously occupy the country when Norway decides to ban drilling for oil. It’s an amazing show, available on Netflix, worth watching!
