It’s official: genetically modified salmon is coming to a counter near you – and it won’t come with a label alerting consumers they’re eating the world’s first GMO fish.

Enviro groups say federal approval of world’s first GMO fish without public consultations or assessment of the environmental effects, failed to meet requirements of the Environmental Protection Act.

What? And you won’t even be able to know that the fish you are eating is the world’s first genetically modified fish? Does that sound like sound science to you? At least keep the public informed so that if there is a weird outbreak of, say kids growing up to be twice the normal size, this way we’ll know that the salmon was involved!
