The choice in the US election is depressing, but there is a chance that a progressive left could yet emerge.
Interesting article about this election. It makes an argument that even though neither candidate is actually progressive, perhaps the movements started by Sanders may continue after the election and we might see a push for some of his ideas: single-payer health care, an end to college fees, a $15 an hour minimum wage.
Even if Trump wins, the anti-establishment rhetoric he ran on might also push forth progressive ideas while leaving behind his extremely conservative ones.
