Users of Twitter, Netflix and other sites reported failures after a company managing crucial parts of the internet infrastructure said it was under attack.
This is why you don’t just indescriminiantly blame countries for hacks then announce that you are going to retaliate with your own cyber attacks at that country. That kind of egotistical, bravado is too much for hackers to leave untouched, which is why hackers, whoever they may be, took down major parts of the Internet in the United States yesterday, using a botnet of devices connected to the net, like cameras, refridgerators, etc.

Okay – this is gonna sound weird. A couple weeks ago I was on a boat; it was dark. I was watching something online and noticed the the green light of my webcam was on. I *never* use my webcam. And the light came on while I was away from my computer. I dismissed it entirely, and after a few minutes the light went off on its own.
And, yeah, we all know what happens when American politicians indiscriminately blame other countries for wrongdoing. It turns out to be false, but only after it’s too late.
