Researchers say there’s been a huge leap in childhood obesity rates in rural China. They’re warning the government to take action now or face an even bigger crisis once the overweight kids grow up.
Yeah, having spent a year in China, I can say I saw this quite a bit. American fast food in China is the Gold Standard. What’s even more strange is that it also costs more money there than it does here! Starbucks drinks are a buck more, on average. I don’t think parents are making any sort of connection with obesity and health, either. Money came fast and hard. But what to do with it, maybe not so much.
