About a month ago a hospital in Aleppo, Syria was the target of airstrikes which resulted in the death of fourteen patients and staff; of those killed was the last pediatrician in the city. When I read this article announcing a forty-eight hour ceasefire this morning I was completely overjoyed. I know that it’s not much for a city that has been ravaged by violence, but it is something that might give Syrians hope that the conflict will soon come to an end. Hopefully combatants on all sides will realize the futility of their actions and try to find ways to bring back peace to their homeland.
